Preparing for convention

RESOLUTIONS FACING Convention 2026

Resolutions are one way members of the Diocese can ask Diocesan Convention to take action, establish a position, encourage a particular course of action, or amend the Constitution or Canons. To help Convention consider resolutions thoughtfully and efficiently, please follow these guidelines.

Every submission should include a short explanation describing:

• The issue the resolution addresses;

• Why action by Diocesan Convention is appropriate;

• What would change if the resolution is adopted; and

• Any relevant background, Episcopal Church policy, previous resolutions, or supporting information.

• Identify the proposer and a Convention delegate sponsor. Include the proposer’s name, congregation, email address, and phone number.
