Nominated for

General Convention Deputation

The rEV. Hannah Wilder

St. Mary’s in-the-Valley, Ramona

Nominee’s Bio: The Rev. Hannah Wilder has attended six General Conventions, serving twice as a deputy and most recently as chair of the San Diego deputation. As vicar of St. Mary’s in-the-Valley, Ramona, she brings experience in parish leadership, diocesan governance, and collaborative ministry across diverse contexts. Hannah is passionate about ensuring the Episcopal Church embodies radical inclusion, justice, and hope in a polarized world. She has served on diocesan initiatives in affordable housing, youth ministry, and racial reconciliation, and brings skill in legislative process, communication, and coalition-building. She values prayerful discernment, careful listening, and lifting up the voices of those often marginalized in church and society. Hannah would be honored to represent the Diocese of San Diego at the 82nd General Convention.

Nominee’s Statement in Favor of Their Candidacy: I’m putting my name forward not because I think I have all the answers (I don’t — ask my congregation about my attempts at logistics), but because I love this church and believe in its call to witness God’s love in the world. I’ve been to six General Conventions, so I know the stamina it takes to read 400+ resolutions before dinner. I care about listening well, laughing often, and keeping us grounded in prayer when things get heavy. If elected, I promise to represent San Diego with faith, humor, and a steady supply of snacks.
