Nominee’s Bio: George Lynch was born and raised in South Carolina. He moved to California in 1983 and embarked on a 36-year career in Information Technology Management where he worked for Edmunds Publications, Trust Company of the West, The Capital Group, and finally Wolters Kluwer from which he retired in 2019. Throughout the years he was active in the Presbyterian Church in his local congregation and as a leader at the Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly levels. In 2018 George and his husband, Louie Tamantini, moved to Rancho Mirage. George has been a member of St. Margaret’s in Palm Desert for 7 years where he has served on Vestry and has served as Senior Warden. He served on the Executive Committee for St. Margaret’s Capital Campaign in 2024 and was actively involved in the church’s renovations in 2025. He currently leads the Faith Formation team at St. Margaret’s. Other activities at St. Margaret’s include facilitating a Sacred Ground circle, teaching Adult Formation classes, and preaching occasionally. George currently serves on the Strategic Planning Taskforce for the Diocese of San Diego.
Nominee’s Statement in Favor of Their Candidacy: I feel I am well suited to serve on the Executive Council as I have many years of experience serving on governing boards both in the Presbyterian Church and The Episcopal Church. I understand the requirements of serving on boards, including fiduciary responsibilities. Some of my past board experience:
